Bringing awareness to the Fast Fashion Industry (inexpensive clothing produced rapidly by mass-market retailers in response to the latest trends) is key to shifting our mindset of how we shop. As clothing production has nearly doubled since the year 2000, acknowledging the brutal effects the Fast Fashion Industry has on our earth (not to mention production workers!) is the first step in adjusting our buying strategy. We can counter the effects of the fast fashion industry by circulating garments to give them a longer, multigenerational lifecycle…. hence the phrase “Circular Fashion”. Maybe this method of shopping is a plot twist to you or maybe you’ve already made the shift… regardless, with out shame or guilt, our aim is to modify the social perspective of how we acquire our clothing.
